Rama Zakaria

Rama has over a decade of experience in power markets and clean energy and is Lightshift’s lead for markets and operations.
Before joining Lightshift, Rama was at S&P Global, Inc., where she coordinated across regional teams to provide clients with critical insights, data, and analytics on global power and renewables. Prior to that, she was at the Environmental Defense Fund where she focused on U.S. energy and environmental regulations. Rama also served as advisor to former Chairman Norman C. Bay at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), where she provided policy and technical advice on U.S. electricity markets. During her time at FERC, she was detailed to the White House Council on Environmental Quality where she focused on the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan. Rama has a SB in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MEng from Johns Hopkins University, and MBA from INSEAD.
